Geopark Odsherred, which surrounds Dragsholm Castle, was the first of its kind in Denmark to be designated as an internationally recognised Geopark in 2014 in the Global Geoparks Network under UNESCO. Geopark Odsherred has thus become the first Danish Geopark, which is part of the global family working towards protecting the geological heritage and, through involvement of the local population, to create development and growth through geotourism.

Geopark Odsherred has its Info Point at Dragsholm Castle, where visitors can gain an interactive insight into how the glacial terrain and history has affected and shaped the landscape in Odsherred

The criteria for being approved as a Geopark is that the region's landscape and geology must be unique, and that the landscape is and has been significant to the region's development. In Geopark Odsherred, it is the ancient glacial landscape and the reclaimed Lammefjord that have created unique conditions for the cultivation of vegetables. A great variety of vegetables are now grown around the Lammefjord, which is regarded today as a quality brand.
